According to Game Informer, the new Xbox 360 Zephyr is coming in April.

Bear in mind, this is still in the realm of rumors, as Microsoft has not announced it yet… but it’s looking good. We were looking forward to the possibility that Microsoft would bundle the HD DVD drive at a bargain price for the Zephyr package, but it looks like Microsoft is going to keep that separate. Team Pandemic has announced the formation of a World of Warcraft Division.

Their pro gaming team will be made up of 7 players from Guild Notorious of the Tichondrius Server. This team is now competing in Blizzard’s official 5 X 5 Arena Tournament with the name, ‘Power Trip’. At this time, they are in 1st place in Battle Group 9 (Bloodlust).

No doubt Team Pandemic’s decision to start scouting for a pro gaming team, was influenced by WoW’s massive subscribership of 8.5 million (!) world-wide. With Pandemic behind them, Power Trip is sure to be a major threat in Pro Gaming circles.

On 30 Jan, a Canadian firm, SplitFish Gameware, announced the development of a new controller rumble technology that would work with motion sensing, and not infringe on any of Immersion’s patents. Since they described this dynamic force feedback system as being PS3 capable, we are sure they were counting on Sony to jump at the deal. No deal. Sony said they weren’t interested. Too bad for us.

 Just an observation: Why would Sony go so ‘over the top’ with the graphics part of the game experience (producing the costliest console, because of it… one they lose money on, with every unit sold), and turn their back on the rumble aspect of the gaming experience? Beats us.

Oh well. We’re still the best place to buy a PS3 online. If you want to play Resistance: Fall of Man or Gran Turismo HD, Final Fantasy, etc. you have to play by Sony’s rules.
