Team Carbon has picked up a $1 million contract with MLG, over a 3 year period!
December 18, 2006
Today, Major League Gaming announced the signing of professional gamers to exclusive contracts. Seven
professionals signed deals with the league, including the four members of the National Champions, Team Carbon,
and three members of Str8 Rippin. These pro gaming stars will join Final Boss and Str8 Rippin’s leader, Tsquared,
to complete the signing of the best 3 teams in the League.
Can you really make money playing video games?
These guys are on contract for more than $80 K per year, each. Add to that figure the $100,000 Team Carbon
just won for the Nats. hmmmmmm.
In our opinion, this is only the beginning of pro Gaming. Now that pro gaming matches are being broadcast on
TV, the money will come to the Sport. With money, comes fierce competition. The Gaming Industry is already
pulling more money than Hollywood. Two 4 man teams, do not make for healthy entertainment. There will be more
teams, more Leagues, Tony Hawk-style endorsements and money... lots of it.

Gears of War 2007 Online Pro Gaming Tournament
Major League Gaming in conjunction with GameStop are announcing Major League Gaming's
first Gears of War Tournament. Beginning on 9 January, the 5 week tournament will kick
off, and will continue for the course of 5 weeks. Two 4 man teams will shoot it out for a $5K
cash prize.
In our estimation, the Gears of War Tournament gives some new talent a chance with a level playing field. The
video game is so new, it hasn't spawned an army of mega-savvy veteran teams, capable of immediately executing
even advanced gamers (not us, lol!) the second they set foot on the map. With Pro Gaming Tournament play
airing on TV, a need will arise for new material, new frontiers... and the money will come with it. Gears of War just
may be that material. It's a good time to start pro gaming.
